Paris – Mobile
music downloading is still in its infancy in terms of user adoption, as fewer
than 2% of mobile users in the U.S.
and Western Europe reported downloading a song
to their handset during the first quarter, Reuters reported, citing comScore
data. While 24% of users said they listened to music on their phones, the
majority had loaded tracks already on their computers to their phones, rather
than pay to download songs over-the-air.
