San Francisco
– Social games publisher Zynga announced on Thursdady that it ahs acquired
Beijing-based social gaming company XPD Media.

Financial terms of the
transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2008, XPD is backed by True Ventures
and Pilot Group and focuses on social game development for Asian and
international social networks.

San Francisco-based Zynga counts more than 230
million monthly active users playing its games, which include
"FarmVille" and "Mafia Wars."

The company yesterday
announced a five-year deal solidifying its games’ placement on Facebook.
