Los Angeles
– The domain and source code for Newzbin, the Usenet media file indexer that
was ordered shut down on copyright charges earlier this year, has been sold to
a Seychelles-based company called WCIS Limited, TorrentFreak reports. The move
mirrors one made by The Pirate Bay, whose operators reportedly sold the domain
to a Seychelles-based company amid their ongoing legal battle in Sweden. The
ex-director of Newzbin reportedly sold the domain and code to help pay
creditors.
