– Hearst Corp. announced on Thursday that it has acquired search marketing firm
iCrossing.
While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, The Wall
Street Journal pegged the purchase price at about $325 million, citing sources.
Hearst originally approached iCrossing with an offer late last year, but was rebuffed
as iCrossing sought out additional interested suitors.
Hearst said the deal
will provide it will global digital marketing capabilities, including paid
search, search engine optimization, Web development, mobile and social
marketing, and data analytics.
Scottsdale,
Ariz.-based iCrossing’s customers include Bank of America, Toyota and Coca-Cola.
