Washington – Apple (NASD: AAPL) said
that it will open its first retail store in the District of Columbia this Friday at 5 p.m.
The store — located at 1229 Wisconsin Ave. NW. in Georgetown
— will join other area locations in Bethesda, Arlington, McLean, Reston, Fairfax,
Columbia and Annapolis. The opening will be just in time
for the release of the new iPhone 4, set to debut on June 24. Apple operates
more than 200 retail stores nationwide.
