Mountain View, Calif. – Google (NASD: GOOG) has launched a film project,
"Life In A Day," which asks users to "capture a snapshot of your
life on camera" on July 24. The resulting footage submitted to YouTube
will then be edited by "The Last King of Scotland" director Kevin
Macdonald into a feature documentary film, to be executive produced by Ridley
Scott. The film will premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival; users whose
footage is included in the film will be credited as co-directors.
