Cupertino, Calif. – Apple (NASD: AAPL) announced on Monday that it will
launch the iPad in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico,
Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore on Friday. The device is already
available in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan,
Spain and Switzerland. Apple said it will roll out the iPad to many more countries
later this year.

  1. As it gets released in more countries I think the ipad will start to catch on more. It is interesting that Apple would choose to gradually release the ipad in different countries like this. Most manufacturers would simply release it worldwide all at once. Then again, Apple has some true marketing geniuses. So this is likely a move to keep them in the news and keep other countries eagerly awaiting the release.
