Sydney, Australia – Freelancer.com, an online marketplace
for outsourcing freelance work, announced on Monday that it has acquired
Freemarket.com, a virtual content marketplace.

Financial terms of the deal were
not disclosed.

Sydney-based Freelancer.com says that over 1.7 million
professionals from more than 234 countries and regions are registered on the
site.

The company has launched an online marketplace for buying and selling
virtual goods, aiming to become the "’iTunes for designers and
programmers,’ with a digital marketplace for stock logos, website templates,
stationery, images, sound clips, 3D models" and other projects.
