Montreal – StatusNet, the developer of an open-source
microblogging platform, has raised new funding from FirstMark Capital,
BOLDstart Ventures, iNovia Capital and Montreal Start Up, TechCrunch reported.

While the amount of this investment was not disclosed, the company has now
raised a total of $2.3 million.

Founded in 2008, Montreal-based StatusNet
offers customers such as Motorola a means of building in-house microblogging
services, which can be integrated with other enterprise applications.
