New York – The New York Times (NYSE: NYT) has developed a white-label
version of the platform it uses to publish content for Apple’s (NASD: AAPL) iPhone and iPad,
AdAge reports. Initial customers for the "Press Engine" include
Telegraph Media Group and three Belo-owned newspapers, who will pay a one-time
license fee for the platform, and monthly maintenance fees — but keep all
advertising and circulation revenues.
