New York – China Unicom will begin selling Apple (NASD: AAPL) iPhones equipped
with Wi-Fi support next week, The Wall Street Journal reported. Since October,
when the iPhone first went on sale in China, the Chinese version had lacked
Wi-Fi — as the government had mandated that such devices use the country’s own
proprietary WAPI wireless standard.
