Durham, N.C. – PocketGear, a mobile applications and content
marketplace, announced on Monday that it has raised $15 million in its second
round of venture capital financing.

Trident Capital led the investment round;
BlackBerry Partners Fund also participated.

North Carolina-based PocketGear was
spun off from Motricity, and operates an app store featuring more than 140,000
paid and free titles.

The company powers mobile storefronts for over 40 distribution
partners.

PocketGear will use the funds to build out its sales and marketing
team.
