Cupertino, Calif. – Apple (NASD: AAPL) said on Tuesday that its iTunes U
online educational content store has now served 300 million downloads since its
launch a little over three years ago.

The store offers 350,000 audio and video
files from educational institutions worldwide, including course lectures, lab
demos, sports highlights and campus tours.

Apple said over 800 universities
have active iTunes U sites, adding that nearly half of these institutions
distribute some content publicly on the store.

"With such a wide selection
of educational material, we’re providing iTunes users with an incredible way to
learn on their computer, iPhone, iPod or iPad," said Eddy Cue, Apple’s
vice president of Internet services.
