Waterloo, Ontario – BlackBerry maker Research in Motion
(RIM) (NASD: RIMM) has acquired Cellmania, a provider of mobile storefront technology,
TechCrunch reported.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded
in 1999, Mountain View, Calif.-based Cellmania provides mobile storefront
technology to customers including T-Mobile and Sprint.

Canada-based RIM is
likely to use Cellmania’s technology to bolster its own BlackBerry App World.
