Los Angeles – Due a faulty firmware update, some Samsung
Blu-ray players are now unable to play certain releases from Universal and
Warner Bros., Engadget reported. NewTeeVee notes that copy-protection on
Blu-ray discs — which is updated periodically via the Internet — is the
likely culprit. Earlier this year, a similar issue with Samsung Blu-ray players
compelled Amazon to place a warning on its product page for the movie
"Avatar."
