Zurich, Switzerland – Kooaba, the developer of a mobile
visual search engine, has raised $3 million in new financing from Swiss
investors, TechCrunch reported.

The company was spun out from the Computer
Vision Lab at ETH Zurich.

Kooaba’s technology uses mobile phone photos taken by
consumers of items like movie posters, print advertisements and physical
products, to find product and pricing information online.

The company will use
the new funds to expand internationally.
