Los Angeles – The Associated Press announced on Monday that
it has reached a new agreement with Google (NASD: GOOG), on the continued licensing of AP
content by Google for its Google News service.

Terms of the agreement were not
disclosed.

The companies also said they will "work together in a number of
new areas, such as ways to improve discovery and distribution of news."

In
its coverage of the deal, the AP noted it came "after months of sometimes
thorny negotiations," during which Google stopped hosting AP content for a
period.
