Oakland, Calif. – Livescribe, a maker of "smart
pens" with mobile computing abilities, announced that it has raised $39
million in a third round of venture capital financing, led by Crosslink
Capital.

Scale Venture Partners, Qualcomm, TransLink Capital, Presidio
Ventures, Keating Capital and existing investors VantagePoint Venture Partners,
Lionhart and Aeris Capital also participated.

Oakland, Calif.-based Livescribe
said it has sold nearly 500,000 of its smartpens since 2008.

The devices, which
range in price from $129 to $199, include a microphone, speaker and camera, as
well as translation tools.

The new funding brings the total amount raised by
Livescribe to date to more than $100 million.
