Cupertino, Calif. – A new version of Apple’s (NASD: AAPL) iPad may be
available as soon as the upcoming holiday season, as the company works to
complete testing of a built-in video camera, AppleInsider reported, citing a
source familiar with the company’s plans.

The camera would enable the company’s
new FaceTime video conferencing feature, which it already has integrated into
new iPhone and iPod touch models.

Apple reportedly is striving to make FaceTime
the industry standard, hoping to have the feature available on tens of millions
of devices this year.
