Los Angeles – Canadian film studio Lionsgate has made its
first foray into Web-based programming, ordering 24 episodes of a Web series
called "Trailer Trash," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The
series, which will be produced by ad agency MDC Networks’ Hud:sun Media
production unit, blends animation and live action. "Only very recently has
the environment been such that high-quality programming can be created for the
Web and have a sustainable business model that can work," Curt Marvis,
president of digital at Lionsgate, told THR.
