Cupertino, Calif. – Apple (NASD:  AAPL) announced on Thursday that Verizon
Wireless (NYSE:  VZ) will begin selling its iPad in over 2,000 of its U.S. stores beginning
Oct. 28. Verizon will reportedly also begin selling Apple’s iPhone next year,
according to reports from The Wall Street Journal and others.

Verizon will sell
the Wi-Fi version of the iPad — as the 3G chip used by Apple isn’t compatible
with its network — bundled with its MiFi portable Wi-Fi hotspot device.

Meanwhile, current iPhone carrier partner AT&T (NYSE:  T) announced that it will also
begin carrying both the 3G and Wi-Fi models Apple’s iPad in its 2,200 retail
stores on Oct. 28.
