Cleveland, Ohio – OverDrive, a distributor of e-books and
audiobooks to retailers, libraries and schools, announced that it has received
a "major investment" from Insight Venture Partners.
Founded in 1986,
Cleveland-based OverDrive operates a secure digital repository of over 550,000 e-books,
audiobooks, music and video from partners including Random House,
HarperCollins, Penguin, Hachette and McGraw-Hill.
The content is distributed
across a network of more than 11,000 libraries, retailers, schools and other
channels.
