Los Angeles – Lars Rasmussen, the developer of Google Maps
and Google Wave who has worked as an engineer at Google (NASD: GOOG) since his company was
acquired six years ago, is leaving to join Facebook, the Sydney Morning Herald
reported. Rasmussen told the Herald "it can be very challenging to be
working in a company the size of Google," which counts 25,000 employees to
Facebook’s 2,000, adding that Facebook’s offer was "much more compelling
both financially and in terms of the work there."
