San Francisco – Federated Media Publishing, a network of
blogs and corresponding ad network, announced on Wednesday that it has acquired
BigTent, a platform for trusted parenting groups.
Financial terms of the
acquisition were not disclosed.
BigTent hosts some 15,000 online communities,
mostly comprised of parenting groups.
"The combination of our two
audiences gives marketers a powerful new way to reach the most valuable
consumers online," said Federated Media president and COO Deanna Brown.
"Moms are busy, so they’re picky about where they spend their online time.
They read high-quality writing from the best bloggers and they engage with each
other in the most useful communities."
