Portland, Ore. – Urban Airship, a provider of development
tools for mobile application makers, announced on Wednesday that it has raised
$5.4 million in its second round of funding, led by Foundry Group.

Ventures and Founders Co-op also participated in the round, which brings the
company’s total amount raised to date to $6.5 million.

Launched in 2009, Portland,
Ore.-based Urban Airship provides tools such as push notifications and in-app
purchasing for mobile developers, used in applications such as Tapulous’
"Tap Tap Revenge," and offerings from LivingSocial and Gowalla.

The
company says it has delivered more than 1 billion mobile messages across the
Apple iOS, Android and BlackBerry platforms.
