New York – Hulu, the online video portal joint venture
between News Corp.
(NYSE: NWS)
, NBC Universal (NYSE: GE) and Disney (NYSE: DIS), has moved its Hulu Plus
subscription service out of beta, opening access to the $9.99 per month service
to anyone.

The company said availability of Hulu Plus — which provides greater
access to seasons of TV episodes — will also expand to Sony Bravia 2010 TVs,
and to all PlayStation 3 owners with a PlayStation Network account.

Observers
have noted that Hulu Plus may fare better at a lower price point, as services
like Netflix offer a large library of TV episodes, as well as movies, for $8.99
per month.
