San Francisco – Google (NASD: GOOG) on Tuesday launched an online store
where users can purchase apps for its Chrome Web browser, and eventually for
its forthcoming Chrome OS operating system, PaidContent reported.

The company
demonstrated a few of the 500 apps available from the Chrome Web Store at a launch
event in San Francisco — including one from The New York Times that permits
offline reading of articles.

Google also said its Chrome browser now counts 120
million users.
