Cupertino, Calif. – Apple (NASD: AAPL) announced on Tuesday that it
expects sales of its Apple TV to top 1 million units this week. Introduced on
Sept. 1, the $99 device lets users stream HD movies and TV shows over a home
network to their televisions.
The device provides access to content from online sources including
Netflix, YouTube, Flickr, and Apple’s MobileMe and iTunes Store.
Apple noted
that iTunes users are now renting and purchasing over 400,000 TV episodes and
over 150,000 movies per day.
