Los Angeles – Bram Cohen, inventor of the BitTorrent
file-sharing protocol, is finalizing development on a new peer-to-peer, live
video streaming protocol slated for release later this year, TorrentFreak
reported. "Doing live properly is a hard problem, and while I could have a
working thing relatively quickly, Im doing everything the ‘right’ way,"
Cohen told TorrentFreak last year, adding that challenges included
"ditching TCP and using congestion control algorithms different from the
ones we’ve made for UTP."
