Reston, Va. – ObjectVideo, a developer of software designed
to improve the effectiveness of security cameras, has raised $27.8 million
through an offering of equity and notes, according to a filing with the
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

All told, 17 investors took part in
the round.

The Reston, Va.-based company was founded in 1998 by scientists and
program managers from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA),
and counts among its board members former FCC Chairman Michael Powell.

Its
network of partners includes more than 70 manufacturers and technology
providers.
