Sunnyvale, Calif. – A month after the company laid off
around 600 employees, Yahoo (NASD:  YHOO) plans to lay off another 140 or so staff, or 1% of
its total workforce. The New York Times cited a source who said the current
cuts are focused on Yahoo’s marketing team.

"The personnel changes we are
making are part of our ongoing strategy to best position Yahoo for revenue
growth and margin expansion and to support our strategy to deliver
differentiated products and experiences to the marketplace," the company
said.

"We’ll continue to hire on a global basis to support our key
priorities."
