Mountain View, Calif. – Google (NASD: GOOG) has acquired SayNow, a
provider of voice chat services used by some celebrities to communicate with
fans.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2005, Palo
Alto, Calif.-based SayNow claims over 15 million users of its applications,
which allow voice messaging, one-on-one conversations, and group calls to be integrated
into Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Android, or iPhone applications.

Customers
include music artists signed to Universal, EMI and others.

SayNow had raised at
least $7.5 million in funding, from backers including Shasta Ventures, Tugboat
Ventures and Altos Ventures.
