San Jose, Calif. – Mobile entertainment publisher PlayPhone
on Tuesday announced the launch of a $10 million marketing fund for developers
of social games for mobile devices.

The funds can be accessed by developers
publishing titles via PlayPhone’s platform.

The company said games launched on
the PlayPhone platform will benefit from regional branding, advertising,
community and multi-language support in more than 25 countries.

Founded in
2003, San Jose, Calif.-based PlayPhone has to date raised nearly $30 million in
financing, from backers including Menlo Ventures, Scale Venture Partners and
Cardinal Venture Capital.
