Mountain View, Calif. – Raptr, the provider of an online
community and ranking system for online games, announced that it has raised $15
million in new financing, from investors including DAG Ventures, Tenaya Capital
and Accel Partners.

Founded in 2007, Mountain View, Calif.-based Raptr offers
an online platform where players of online console games can create profiles,
post achievements, and chat and find players to challenge in various games.

The
company said its service is now used by more than 6 million users, and is
adding 750,000 new users monthly.

  1. I think there is a huge potential for gamer social networks, but am not sure about Raptr’s approach. We will see if other social networks, online communities and services like BattleNet will recognize and make use of the opportunities. Kind regards, Esstische
