San Francisco – Topsy Labs, the developer of a real-time
search engine that indexes Twitter posts, links and user-generated content,
announced on Thursday that it has raised $15 million in its third round of
funding.

Previous investors BlueRun Ventures, Ignition Partners, Founders Fund
and Scott Banister all participated in the round, along with new backer Western
Technology Investments.

Founded in 2006, San Francisco-based Topsy said its
platform now powers social search for online publishers including The
Huffington Post, IDG Media and Discovery.

The company will use the funds to
expand its data-mining architecture.
