Orlando, Fla. – BlackBerry smartphone maker Research in
Motion (RIM) has forged a new partnership with Microsoft, whose Bing search
engine and maps will now be the default applications on the devices.
Microsoft
will also "invest uniquely" in BlackBerry services, according to a
tweet from NPD Group analyst Ross Rubin noted in CNET’s coverage.
Microsoft
also recently announced a major partnership with Nokia, which will use
Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system on its forthcoming smartphones.
