San Francisco – Demand Media, the operator of eHow and other
sites said that search referral traffic to eHow dropped 20% after Google made
alterations to its search algorithm to target "content farms" that
produce low-quality posts, CNET reported, citing remarks from CEO Richard Rosenblatt.
The company said it is removing scores of posts, and plans to pay writers to
work with its editors to craft longer posts that include elements like original
reporting and exclusive quotes.
