San Francisco – Social games publisher Zynga said on Wednesday that it has acquired DNA Games.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2009, DNA Games will see its team form the core of a new Zynga studio led by founder and CEO Jonathan Lee as general manager.

DNA Games had raised venture capital firm backers including Battery Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures.

The deal marks Zynga’s fourteenth acquisition in the past 12 months; other recent buys include Beijing’s XPD, Austin’s Challenge Games, Tokyo’s Unoh Games and Boston’s Conduit Labs.
