Los Angeles – The producers of Oscar-winning movie “The Hurt Locker” have added some 20,000 defendants to their lawsuit against individuals who allegedly downloaded the film via the BitTorrent file-sharing network, TorrentFreak reported.

Voltage Pictures previously filed a copyright infringement suit against 5,000 individuals, and has since been seeking the identities of these suspected downloaders from their ISPs.

Verizon and Charter, but not Comcast, have reportedly reached agreements with Voltage’s attorneys on turning over their subscribers’ identities.

These suspected downloaders are then expected to receive settlement offers from Voltage, or else possibly face a court case.

The company has now filed suit against a total of 24,583 individuals.
