AMC’s hit series Mad Men returns for its fifth season Sunday, but tonight (March 20) Fora.tv is hosting a free live streamcast with the show’s cast and creator that will include an early peek at what will happen.
The whole “sex”tet is participating: Jon Hamm, John Slattery, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, Vincent Kartheiser and Jared Harris, as is Matthew Weiner, the man responsible for the drama set in the world of 1960s Madison Avenue advertising. The discussion will be led by New York Times culture reporter Dave Itzkoff and is part of the TimesTalks series of New York Times’ discussions with significant people from the fields of film, theater, television, art, politics and more.
Those who miss the Mad Men live stream at 6:30 p.m. EST can pay $4.95 to view the archived show on Fora.tv. Alternatively, Fora.tv points out, they can purchase a 12-month all-access pass that includes all of the video service’s TimesTalks events.
Fora.tv has more than 10,000 free and fee-based videos from conferences and events, in addition to powering video for organizations including the Aspen Institute, the Economist, the New York Public Library and Wired. Based in San Francisco, investors include William Randolph Hearst III, Adobe Ventures and others.
Fans interested in delving even deeper may also want to check out the interviews with Weiner available at the Television Academy Foundation’s Archive of American Television.
