Washington, DC – The Internet Society, an independent Swiss organization focused on Internet policy, technology and future development, has named Paul Brigner as director of its North America regional bureau, based in DC.

Brigner most recently was the senior vice president and chief technology policy officer of the Motion Picture Association of America, and previously served as executive director of Internet and technology policy at Verizon Corporate Services.

Michael Nelson, Research Associate at CSC Leading Edge Forum and a leader of the Internet Society’s Washington, DC Chapter, said, “Paul is an excellent addition to the Internet Society team. He knows the technology and is respected and well connected in both the ISP and content industries.”
