Entertainment studio and distributor My Damn Channel today announced the centerpiece of its YouTube channel, My Damn Channel Live, which the company said is the first daily, live, comedy show from YouTube’s original channels initiative.
My Damn Channel Live premieres March 28 at 4 p.m. ET. The show will be hosted by Beth Hoyt (pictured), who each workday will interview celebrity guests, interact with viewers in real-time and premiere videos from over 30 new My Damn Channel original comedy series.
Another recurring feature of My Damn Channel Live will be You Rock at Photoshop!, the latest from Troy Hitch and Matt Bledsoe, the talent behind the mock tutorial series You Suck at Photoshop.
Rob Barnett, My Damn Channel founder and CEO, will executive produce the new channel, along with My Damn Channel co-founder/chief operating officer Warren Chao and director of Content Jesse Cowell. It is led by showrunner Melissa Schneider, My Damn Channel’s director of production. My Damn Channel director of Talent and Audience Development, Molly Templeton, is building cross- promotional relationships and content partnerships with other YouTube channels and talent to be featured on the show.
“The time is right to steal pages from TV’s playbook to reimagine a daily, live, hosted comedy show for the Internet,” said Barnett. “Beth Hoyt is an awesome find and a future star. Our producer, Melissa Schneider, has built an impressive team and a hot new home to showcase the original content and comedy talent we love.”
Timed to coincide with its YouTube channel launch, the company today is relaunching its destination site MyDamnChannel.com, the online home of David Wain’s Wainy Days, Grace Helbig’s Daily Grace, videos by Harry Shearer, the previously mentioned You Suck at Photoshop, and other originals.
