San Francisco – Dolby Laboratories, the San Francisco-based developer of entertainment technology best known for high-quality audio and surround sound, on Tuesday named Lewis Chew as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective June 4.

He will replace Murray Demo, who is retiring.

Chew most recently spent 10 years as the senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer of National Semiconductor.

“I am confident that Lewis’s strong track record in finance, operations and IT will ensure a smooth transition,” said Kevin Yeaman, Dolby’s president and CEO.
