CBS is setting up for gamers to win genuine cash instead of virtual coins. The TV company won a bidding war for Draw Something, a game show based on Zinga’s expensively acquired mobile app of the same name.

On television, Draw Something will not stray far from traditional game show territory, similar to how TV adapted the board game Pictionary. Competing teams will be assembled from celebrities and members of the public. Bringing it into the social and two-screen era, however, viewers will be able to play along via phones and tablets to win prizes.

Draw Something comes from Ryan Seacrest Productions, Sony Pictures Television and Embassy Row. Seacrest is one of the executive producers, along with RSP CEO Adam Sher and Michael David, although there is no suggestion Seacrest will be seen in the show.
