Cambridge, Mass. – Lantos Technologies, a developer of
3D-scanner technology used to develop comfortable, custom fit audio devices
such as hearing aids, earphones and noise-canceling devices, announced on
Thursday that it has raised $1.6 million in its first round of venture capital.

Investors in the deal include Catalyst Health Ventures, Excel Venture
Management and Mass Medical Angels.

Cambridge, Mass.-based Lantos’ technology
was discovered and developed in the lab of MIT professor Douglas Hart.

The
method eliminates the uncertainties associated with manual fits and offers a
precise custom fit to the ear canal’s dimensions.
