Oakland, Calif. – Oakland-based search service Ask.com, a unit of IAC, said on Friday it has launched a mobile app, known as Ask for iPhone. The app allows users to ask questions from their mobile devices, then returns the best answer from the web. If the answer isn’t sufficient, the service then routes the question directly to a relevant Ask.com user. By year’s end, the app also will include a series of location-based features .
