Los Angeles – The winner of a Goya Award, the country of
Spain’s equivalent to a national Oscar, has been arrested on suspicion of
leaking pre-release movies onto file-sharing networks, TorrentFreak reported.

Manuel
Sirgo, 46, won a Goya in 2002 for his animated feature "Pollo," and
has been an employee at both Warner Bros. and Disney.

Sirgo was arrested by
Spanish police yesterday on suspicion he uploaded movies including
"Spaniards" and "Ispansi," using "an Academy computer
designed to give early access to yet-to-be-released movies," according to
TorrentFreak’s coverage.

Sirgo has denied the charges, and claims that a
third-party must have obtained his access codes to the system.
