Internet radio service Pandora and business environment specialist DMX have collaborated to create a fully licensed music service designed to suit the needs of retailers, medical offices, beauty salons and any other commercial setting.

The two partners said this is the first customizable music solution to target this audience.

Jessica Steel, Pandora executive vice president of Business Development and Corporate Development said the new offering was in response to numerous requests for a version that met the licensing requirements as well as the other concerns of business owners.

“Music plays a central role in enhancing retail and service environments,” she said. “Now all businesses, from national chains to local dentist offices, can personalize their brand experiences the same way that people personalize their individual experiences on Pandora.”

The commercial DMX media player online costs $99.95 plus a $24.95 per month subscription per location, with no long-term contract.

The DMX suite of services provides companies with music licensing and promotion, video and digital signage, audio/visual system design, as well as scent, mobile and audio messaging solutions to create unique brand experiences.

“Being able to play an instrumental role in bringing Pandora personalized internet radio to businesses through our licensing and hardware infrastructure is a tremendous opportunity and the perfect complement to our growing portfolio of music services,” DMX chief executive officer John Cullen said.
