Toronto-based startup Kidobi is adding more than 40 hours of children’s programming from Your Family Entertainment’s catalog to its kid-safe streaming video service. The licensing agreement includes programs like Lisa & Paul, Wilf the Witch’s Dog, Albert Asks… What is Life? and Urmel (pictured).
Also recently added to Kidobi’s library is content from Studio100 Media, a subsidiary of Belgium’s Studio100. On Dec. 1 the partners announced a three-year licensing agreement for shows such as Maya the Bee, Tabaluga, Lapitch and Art Alive. Kidobi additionally licensed the pre-school 3D animation series Vipo, Florrie’s Dragons and the multi-platform 3D and CGI quiz show Kerwhizz.
Kidobi costs $3.99 a month for ad-free, unlimited access to its entire library of content suitable for the youngest cord cutters. Parents and families can create individual video playlists based on a child’s age, interests and skills. Alternatively, the service can generate appropriate playlists using adaptive technology developed in consultation with educators and child development experts.
