Agoura Hills, Calif. – Video game publisher THQ (NASD: THQI) has shuttered its
mobile game studio in Finland,
and says going forward it will source mobile game development from external
developers, PaidContent and Finnish games magazine Pelaaja reported.

The Universomo
studio is still expected to release a slate of 15 new mobile game titles this
year.

PaidContent noted that THQ decided a year ago to shutter offices in San Diego, the U.K.
and Germany and consolidate
its mobile development at the facility in Finland.

THQ acquired
Universomo in 2007.
